I would love to get pregnant again - 2009/11/17 04:39 I would love to get pregnant again. I have a 9 months old baby, and my husband and I are thinking on planing in february of 2010 in trying to conceive. I was diagnose diabetic type 1 in May and since I have being in insulin therapy. I have had two A1C already since May my first was 6.9% and the second one which was last week it was 7.2%. It worries me that increase, specially because we want to conceive in a couple of months. Can anyone know if it's safe for me to have another baby? What a about complication during the delivery?
Thank You
Gaby

I would love to get pregnant again - 2009/11/17 09:04 Hello Gaby and welcome to the forums,

I trully don't know about most of that since I don't really know any diabetic mothers...

However the increase from 6.9 to 7.2 isn't a tragedy yet. I think that it is concidered that you have a very good control of diabetes if you have your A1C up to 7.4 or 7.7 so you are still within those limits (besides, since you have been diagnosed just recently you should know that the 7.2 will become a goal eventualy and venturing in the 6 zone will be concidered rather reckless sorry for bad english, couse I'm in a bit of a hurry, got to leave for university in a couple of minutes)

As for the possible complications: you should consult with your doctor. Such questions are ussually first directed at your doctor and then at the community allongside what the doctor said.

So all in all I personaly don't think there should be any problems, but would suggest asking your doctor and don't worry about the increase from 6.9 to 7.2 (mine was 8.9 a month ago, though the fact that I was sick the week before has an effect on the result, or so I was told).
