    rebounding hyperglycemia

My doctor said that I have this thing called rebounding hyperglycemia, where I'm high, so then I get a lot of insulin, get low(esp. when exercising), so then my liver releases sugar into my blood and I get really high again. We think we came up with a good plan that will fix it. There is also another name for, named after the doctor. I can't remember the exact name, but it starts with an S. Has anybody else heard of this?????

I usually get low during gymnastics, which is at 6:00, and I usually eat supper at 5:00. The insulin is just peaking when I'm at gymnastics, so when I eat supper, I am only supposed to take 1/2 of what my insulin pump tells me too and only take 66% of my basal for 10 hours on my pump.

    Good for you, Cowgirl B)
There's just no way I could do that...

When are you starting this new plan? And, if you started already, do you feel the results already?

Today I was a little high before gymnastics, so I did all of my bolus, not 1/2. But I did only do 66% of my basal since I got down to 68 during gymnastics. Afterwards, I was 159, so I got a lot higher(just from 4 life savers!). When I'm at gymnastics, I don't notice as quickly when I get low because I'm concentrating on what I'm doing and not how I feel. The other day, I was 118 but I still felt low.
