Cowgirl Tuff79, what a wonderful idea. How about telling the people you buy the seeds for your vegetables from about it and if they're interested in participating (and some extra commercial btw)?

Or is this not a good idea?

I forgot that I might also do a bake sale. I was thinking having a sign-up sheet at church for people who wanted to bring stuff for the sale.

I got a nice recipe but it's not 'mine' - I have it from a website, but it's so long ago that I forgot which...

squash soup:

3 tablespoons canola oil
4 cups cubed squash
1 chopped onion
1 cut apple
1/2 cup apple-cider
3 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon curry powder
salt & pepper


the onion, squash and apple you need to saute for about 5 minutes until softened. After you stir in the curry powder and salt and pepper and saute some 5 minutes more until onion becomes a bit brown. Pour in the cider and let it boil and then stir in the broth and cook for about half-an-hour. Let it cool a little bit, put in blender and while turning pour in the milk.
