newbie on file
Hello everyone !
I am new to this site and to diabetes i was diagnosed w/ type 2 about a month ago. I am currently taking glyburide and metformin. They seem to be working but i still get high readings if i ignore my eatting habits. If anyone has some tips for me i would appreciate it, especially on gaining weight as I only weigh 100lbs. I know most diabetics are overweight , however i guess i am a rare one

Hello Tanya and welcome to our forums.
I hope you'll like it here, as there are some adorable people around ;-)
Anyway,
I can not give you any tips with regards to gaining weight, as I'm on the opposite of the scale..., but I can give you one very good tip - keep going on with your life as much as you can, and try not to stop doing any activity you used to do.
Some people, after finding out about the their diabetes stop doing sport and I've seen here some who even started acting weird. In my opinion, those chose the wrong path in life.

Lucky girl... I wish I needed to gain weight!! Of course, for the medications to work, you have to follow some kind of diet. The medications have limits. WIth testing before and after each meal, I know what to eat and how my blood sugar will react with the amount of medication I take. You have to try to learn everything you can about diabetes and test, test and test again. Only then will you be able to get good results and adjust medication.
