Anyone heard about this Insulow thing?
I've read about it lately on several places.

I would be very careful about any medication or supplement that is not approved. A few months ago Health Canada issued a warning about one such supplement from China in which was glyburide, same active ingredient that is in DIabeta so it was very dangerous to cause severe hypos.
I believe that the pharmaceutical companies are so on the look-out for a cure or the miracle medication that they would fast commercialize such a supplement and it would be awfully expensive.
Did the FDA approve the medication the Canadian gov got off the shelf?
What was it's name?
I don't know if it needed to be approved. It was in the Chinese natural food supplement. You know, in most Chinatown you have those vitamins and medications you can buy: ginseng, tonics, all kind of *natural* remedies. This was one of them I think.
The name was Liqiang 4.
Always be very careful with any supplement you take.
So you're saying the trick is that it's not a 'mediacation' so they sell without even approving it with the FDA...
Do you know if the FDA approved 'Insulow'?
I don't know if the laws are the same in USA than in Canada. A food supplement doesn't have to be approved I believe, like most everything that is on the shelves at the Health food store. I don't have a clue about the FDA.Originally Posted by Anita

Yes, I think I know what you mean.
Guess I will find no miracle at the herbs-witch next door...
Should have known it by now.
Please allow me to be skeptic after what I've heard here...
Sorry, I can't find anything on the American Diabetes Association site nor on the Canadian one about Insulow so if you can give me a direct link where they talk about it as well as a link to the research, I'd appreciate.Originally Posted by MrLarry
What I've seen on Diabetes Health web site said *according to Glucorell Inc.* which is the manufacturer and distributor of Insulow. It is a natural product so it doesn't have to be approved by Health Canada before it's on the shelves. I don't know the FDA regulations about natural products.
Then, when searching with Google, here is what I get:
-------Insulow.com
Insulow lowers blood sugar, prevents diabetes onset and diabetes complications, cures neuropathy. --------
CURES neuropathy? Believe me, all the Neurologists would prescribe this right now!!!...and note that for a natural product to say it cures, it's against the law in Canada... a cure have to be approved before it's on the market.
Prevent diabetes onset? Why does my Dr. doesn't prescribe this to me or to all my family who's at risk?
Sorry, until I can read the results of published INDEPENDANT studies, I am skeptic(?sp)
Hi MrLarry,
Can you please post some links to such research papers?
