    hospitalization

I was in the hospital this week.

my sugar dropped to 66 (4) and I got disoriented, blood pressure went to 200/80, heart rate was 120 and i thought i was having a heart attack! so did the emergency room. I was put on monitors and kept for two nights. They finally decided i have an infection in my right lung, and sent me home on inhaled steroids and and antibiotic. Feeling better now.

Oh and my family doc has decided I should drop my glucophage from 500 mg twice a day to 125 twice a day. Hope things improve,I dont ever want to feel like that again.

Glad you are back home. THat's good that you decided to go to the ER fast. Illness are playing havock with our blood sugar and we can't do nothing about it. A simple cold can play with your bg so imagine an infection.

    Take care

Been resting, no work at all, laying in bed watching tv, reading, and been on the net a little (of course) I call the doctor for an appt tomorrow, and shall see what he says. I still get out of breath just getting up and going to the bathroom! At least my sugar seems to have stabilized for now.

Thanks for the concern, i appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about the bg/infection syndrome But very happy to hear you are getting over it.

I've had a fasting sample of 11.5 with just a common cold

Hope you feel better sistersandy. sugar levels do go all over the place when we get ill, up and down all over the place.
It is horrible when you have an extreme hypo, i've had some and my wifes had to get the doctor out, very scary when i've finally come round.
    All the best.

Well, I had some tests done on my heart, and everything seems to be fine there. Seems my lungs need a little help, thus am taking a stronger dose of advair now.

The doc decided my sugar is going too low all the time, and has discontinued all diabetes meds for a while, My sugar hasnt been over 115 (6) in the last three weeks, at all, even after big meals, and has been dropping way too low at times.

    Wish me luck

You take care now -- just to let you know you are in my thoughts even though we have never met -- we all have a common bond.

Hope things start improving for you soon.

    Hi sistersandy,

So glad to hear that your heart is ok.
You said that your doc dropped your medications, you sure it's ok?

Does anyone know how is the suger level effected of lung illness?
