One of my Pet Peeves
American Diabetes Association ( http://www.newstarget.com/008164.html ) , Canadian Dietician Association ( http://www.dietitians.ca/cfdr/corporate_donors.asp ) and many other associations dealing for (with) our health, give recommendations about how we should eat, act and live and then, are funded in part by companies selling junk food and soft drinks.
I've been handed down documentations for cholesterol, heart diseases and high blood pressures produced by Eggs Producers Association, Pork Producers Association and alikes. On posters in my nurse's office there is recommendations about target blood sugar and blood pressure numbers, ideal weight and alikes, all printed by pills and medication companies.
Over the radio this week-end, a nutritionist was talking about the coming new Canadian Food Guide and said that she have to work within her Association guidelines. How can the Health team decisions and recommendations be impartial and unbiaised?
What do you think?

Genarlly speaking you can't trust them. As simple as that.
Personally, I try to eat as much vegtables as I can.
In addtion to that I eat low fat meat, a couple of eggs a week and actually - not too much of anything else...

Gemstone, pharmaceutical companies hand out many, many goody-goodies to doctors to lure them into prescribing their brand of medicines to their patients. Although there's stiff competition between the various pharmaceuticals and in a way the patient is given the medicine the doctor receives the most attractive freebies from, there is absolutely NO way a doctor or any other health institute is even allowed to misdirect patients.
