Hello Everyone, and Goodbye to Type 2 Diabetes

    Hello,
I was fortunate to overcome a personal bout with diabetes, and now I help other diabetics -- by using my background in biochemistry and engineering science.

I have done a lot of clinical research and read a lot of books about diabetes -- only a couple of them really ATTACK the root causes of the disease and provide a structured solution to managing and defeating the disease -- using the best of the best in science and technology.

I have worked with a lot of (type 2) diabetics, and I have learned 3 important facts:

    1. People with an open mind and postive attitude can manage their diabetes. These people are able to prevent the onset of the complications such as kidney failure, blindness, and amputation. Some have even reversed the effects.

    2. Unfortunately, there is a lot of myth and misunderstanding about diabetes that leads to poor decision-making. This is difficult for some people because it is more difficult to first UNlearn something in order to learn it properly.

    3. Most diabetics make the same mistakes due to these myths and misunderstandings.

    Sincerely,

    The Doc

Hello Everyone, and Goodbye to Type 2 Diabetes

    Hi There,

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for the post... the points you've made are very accurate, in my opinion.

Quick question for everyone on the forum: are you a medical doctor (endo)? Just curious due to your screen name...

I know that there are many Type 2s on the forum who welcome new info, thanks again!

Hello Everyone, and Goodbye to Type 2 Diabetes

My academic background is in cardiology, biomedical science, and engineering. But I ran into so many diabetics in my practice, and plus I also became diabetic -- I realized that the drugs I was taking (insulin, Coumadin, Lipitor, etc.) were not giving me the response I expected. My patients were not getting better, leading to various cardio-related conditions. When I prescribed more drugs, their health didn't improve -- but, at the time, I assumed they were doing something wrong.

When it happened to me, I realized that it wasn't them (or me) -- it was the treatment protocol!

Luckily for me, my background in engineering allowed me to step outside the traditional medical mindset -- to use engineering tools and methods to find a better solution to my poor health state.

Because of my time limitations, I didn't have the luxury to start from scratch, so I did in-depth research and read hundreds of other diabetes books, clinical studies, wellness programs to try to find a STRUCTURED solution that provided a FRAMEWORK that I could use for myself and then modify for my patients.

    Sincerely,

    Doc
