What is the best diabetes diet to follow.

Once Ive read somewhere about an old theory that our body is 70% made of water. So providing your body the right amount of fluids needed, you can also be healthy. I'm not telling you to drink all time water. But what Im telling you is to eat those foods that consist mostly of water. Any comment for this

The fact that our body is 70% fluids does not mean that we need to take in the same percentage of fluids with food. Water is needed for our organism to function properly. I am not sure about this since I am not a bliologist, but what I know is that all you need to do is take in enough fluids, so you do not dehydrate.

It is advised to drink around 2 liters of water a day. Water-"full" foods don't really contain significant amounts of fluid I believe.

I’m not telling you just to drink all the time water or even other juices. No way. You can’t live with only taking water.

What I want to tell you is that you must choose those foods that have around 70% water. Those foods are fruits and vegetables. And here we are. This is the best diabetes diet for you.

    See for more details http://www.all-about-beating-diabetes.com/best-diabetes-diet.html

Taulandi, now that we got it clear that you wanted to advertise your blog on here :P I must say, I don't agree. One can easily eat food that contains less than 70% of water and drink water to receive the right amount of keeping fluids in the body anyway

The Topic of this post is what is the best diabetes diet. And the best one is to follow those foods that have around 70 % water.

This do not mean you should not follow any other diet, which may be is good but not the best.

I have put the link as a reference, but if this one do not allow from your part, i will not pur any more links for reference.

No worries about the link, as long as it is not an advertisment of one's own blog, site or some product etc.

One cannot be sure that a diet is the best. I'm not saying that the diet you've mentioned is bad, but rather imposing the fact that one cannot be sure that it is the best. For one thing sticking to foods that have arround 70% of watter means eating more vegetables and fruit. While that is all good and dandy but there is information that must be given together with this diet plan.

For egzample: a true diet must be balanced. While roast chicken is said to be bad for health it is not recommended to change it to vegetables and fruit. Though it has some unhealthy materials, but meat is needed for a lot of things. F.E: this is known by those who practise one sports activity: my brother used to be a rower and he ate a lot of meat. In comparison his friend didn't like it as much but they were in the same boat. My brother working about the same as his friend did gained a lot more strenght. That goes for all other muscles.

Another thing: you cannot be sure that it's 70% that you need to stick to. That's the percentage of our body fluids, that means that our organism will not be able to absorb the same ammount of fluids from the food. A big part will be thrown out of the organism very quickly. That means that we would forsake more important types of meal for nothing.

It is known that true vegetarians (that eat only fruit and don't wear fur or leather and so on) have worse heatlth than people who have a balanced diet (eat enough meat, fruit, vegetables and other kinds of food).

So all in all what I'm saying is that such information must be given out with care. It's good when there are people you can consult with arround. But what if there is no one to warn about the side effects? That means that in the end "the medicine will kill the sickly". (don't worry, I doubt the effect would be as drastic as killing, it's just a saying  )

    I agree with Vytautas -

I also think this thread is very worth while because things get discussed on it which, in itself, is providing information - about all that is involved

Yes. As I said you must try to learn every possible alternative, not just narrow down to one that sounded good. Find out about the side-effects, about other variations of the diet etc.

Don't be afraid to disccuss with your doctor or sometimes even question their methods (don't do it too harshly though, just ask if they are sure and what are the alternatives)

After getting many different opinions I searched the web for some kind of answer to finding a good diet with solid recipes that actually taste good. The best website Ive found is http://www.dlife.com/dLife/diabetic-recipes.html. The site also helps you answer alot of questions about which diet is the right diet which is most important. I have been on a ton of diets that worked for friends and family but they never took off with me
