Pump Coverage In Canada
Hi All,
I was talking to a Diabetes specialist (at a xmas party, of all things!) and while they are covering the pump for people who have Type 1, up to 18 years -- it looks like the rest of us are on the way!
Apparently, in 2008, there is talk of having all Type 1's receive coverage for the pump in Canada. Isn't this exciting!?! I'm THRILLED and I'll be the first one to hop on that bandwagon once it is passed.... I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else!
Hope you're all having a GREAT weekend!

Pump Coverage In Canada
Thx for the news (and great news let's not deny it) karen. Wish you can get it soon so that you can (if it's allowed) post the details here
The attempts to "persuade" our goverment came with the attempts to get those pumps (or at least parts) covered for all under 18. Right now you can get a pump bought for you if you are under 18 (and the line's are already a long) so we are puting more ephasis on the parts themselves to be covered for all.

Pump Coverage In Canada
I know, VERY exciting -- it would help so many people out! I'll definitely keep you all posted! Though, I'm not 100% sure how the parts/supplies coverage will work... but I guess that's just a bridge I'll cross when I get to it.

Pump Coverage In Canada
Karen that is great news !!
In Israel pumps aren't covered by the national health insurance although there is an organization that helps financially weaker people obtain them. I still think coverage by health insurance is a must. Especially seen how much insurance is paid
