Stevezygote, welcome to the forum
I cannot recommend any program, but there are some free online programs you might want to try out. One of them is THIS (please click)

Hm... What kind of BG mesuring device do you use? For egzample Accu-Check have Smart pix, Freestyle mini (and others from the same manufacturer) can be connected by a simple wire which comes with a program to monitor your BG.

I have the one touch ultra. lifescan wants 30 bucks for their software and interface. i'm on a disability pension! 30 bucks is a fortune to me. i downloaded and am using BG Tracker 4, but the reports don't work for me. So I'm seriously considering simply making a spreadsheet of my readings. in a spreadsheet i can create some reports for the endo.

They sure do! You know, I just record everything down and bring it to the endo when I go -- easy and free! (plus, the glucometer has a setting where I can go back and look at past results if I forget to record something, not always easy when you are on the go!)

Maybe a mass protest (by not using those services) would bring the cost down?
i personally find it disgusting to make money out of something like that. As if it is a luxury to have diabetes and people chose for it

Yah.. Sometimes it's awkward how much these essential items cost...
Never heard of one touch ultra before... It's acctualy a rip-off to ask so much for these things... Even accu check is going round: their glucometers use small chips for each box of test strips. They ask to collect these chips and diferent ammounts of chips equal to diferent prizes: if i remember correctly it's 100 (or 200) chips for a smart pix so that's 5000 (or 10000) tests, a ideal control asks to test 5 times a day so it would take ~1000 (or ~2000) days to aquire one for technicaly free.

Lifescan makes it. I'm in Canada. Lifescan gives out free software but you have to buy this cable and it's 30 bucks. Lifescan is good. But the cable at 30 bucks has to be a golden cable...

Still I think all of these things should be covered by the health insurance. If not, what are they for?
