    I certainly hope the surgery will help. In the back of mind mind, I can help but think that this is just a step away from an amputation. I can't tell him that but I worry about it a lot myself. The depression is logical. He's only 47 and been dealing with diabetes itself for 10-12 years now. His health issues have worsened over the last year or so and he's had to go to so many Dr's and have so many tests done. I'm just not sure that I am helping him when he gets so down. I try but when he turns on me and the kids.....it's hard.

    Yes, I understand Aren't there any patient-clubs near where you live? sometimes people in a similar situation can really pull themselves up from being under people who are feeling and experiencing the same....

    Hi there

    such problems are well known. Surgery is a good way to prolong amputation for long periods but you'd need to tackle it at the roots. Ussualy such complications are the cause of bad self control. Unless your husbands HbA1c is <8 i don't know what to suggest then.
