sugarfee snacks
Hello, all.
I am new to the forum.
I have written a new article about sugarfree snacks.
remember a few years ago when there were no choices in the grocery store for diabetics? EVERYTHING had sugar in it.

Nice article. Pointing out the issue when people buy sugar free snacks and think it's safe: there shouldn't be just articles like that. If it's not being done out there then they should start teaching diabetics about such things. When i was made to attend a diabetic school just in case (those that get sick must go to it, it's in the hospital in the same coridor as the patient wards. I for egzample was thaught there not to look at if it's sugar free or not, but rather at carbs in it which HAS to be writen on the package.

Vytautas, many products also declare on their package if they're ok for diabetes no?

Yes. A lot of products should have the number of carbs in them on the label except for such things as bread, flour and so on, but pastries, juice, colas, snacks, should inform you so you'd know what your eating.

So as to make up your own table of carbs in order to know which level you've reached? Because else the special diabetes products (available everywhere -at least here- in special sections of the shops) can do the "trick" no?

Hm.. I didn't realy undestand the question if it wasn't rethorical but i'll try to answer it in the way i understood it.
Basically the carbs at the back of the pagagink are there so that you'd know rufly what will be your reaction to the food you eat, be it for diabetics to control their sugar levels or for people who can't eat certain food due to a weak hart.
Here you can get these in most shops (healthy food sections) as well. These aren't all that good but if you want a snack better eat sugar-free ones unless they have too much chemicals in them which can be sometimes unpredictable.

I see. Okay, thank you Vytautas. That I understood. However, there are whole branches of special diabetes related food products -
I just thought it was safer to stick to those when uncertain about a certain product.
Maybe I'm wrong

Sometimes yes, but you can't always be certain about the "special" food all of the time as well. Basically all the food is made of the same thing, but it's better to eat something natural than a bunch of chemicals.

With that I fully agree, Vysautas! For the full 100%. The more natural (preferably completely natural) is the best.
