Hi I'm a newbie on herw

Hi ya My name is Jacqui.I have been diagnosed since May 06.I have recently gone onto Insulin and am now controlling my diabetes.Only down side at the moment, have had a recall re- my eyes, early diabetic changes picked up in left eye.Have to go for another test on Monday.Diagnosis came as a big shock,as there is no family history.Am 5ft 4 and weigh about 8st 10 so am not overweight.Have always exercised and eaten fairly well, don't know where it's come from.Am already a member on another forum which has been a great help to me and I have made loads of new friends.Nice to meet some on here.Jacqui

Hi I'm a newbie on herw

That's good to hear and, yeah, definitely get a second opinion to make sure. A big load off, I'll bet!

How are you doing with control using insulin? I tried the pill form early on and switched over relatively quick. By eating well and excercising 5 days a week, I've actually been able to reduce my doses (yay!). Still not perfect, and I'm still learning and adjusting often... but MUCH better.

I think you'll find the forum quite helpful, there're a lot of great people here!

Hi I'm a newbie on herw

I agree with Karen, Jacqui, a second opinion is most certainly needed always. I wish you good luck and health,

    Blair
