    Skinny with Type 2

    Hi,
I've just been diagnosed with Type 2. I'm 49, 5'3'' and 105 lbs. I've never been overweight, I exercize regularly, but haven't been able to ward of diabetes. I have a long family history of diabetes--great-grandmother, grandmother, mother. I've been watching my carbs to some extent for at least 10 years. I'm very frustrated; meat and veggies are great, but I don't tend to have a big appetite for them like I do pasta and rice. Hence, I'm eating less and I'm losing weight. I don't want to lose weight! Any suggestions on what I should be eating to keep my diabetes under control, but keep my weight up? This seems like a strange question coming from a diabetic.
    Thanks

Ok... I understand you are on pils in which case i cannot help you since i do not know how this works, but since there are insulin dependant type 2 patients i will cover that too. Get insulin you find to work best and eat all you want (just be sure to keep the dosage as you need it). I am rather over-slim as well (186cm and 65kg) but i eat quite a lot. My sugar levels are not bad either and when they are bad it is not becouse of food since they come at such times like 3am and i hadn't eaten anything since 9pm and i had the same dose...
